For this pattern, you need a basic understanding of crochet.

Abbreviations:

  • ch – chain
  • sc – single crochet
  • dc – double crochet
  • slst – slip stitch
  • blo – back loop only
  • inc – increase
  • dec – decrease
  • (..) x – repeat x times between (..)
  • *..* – same stitch
  • (no) end of row – total stitch in 1 row

Bottom:

Ch 24 and slst them into a ring

R2: 1sc, inc, (2sc, inc)x7, 1sc (32)
R3: (3sc, inc)x8 (40)
R4: 2sc, inc, (4sc, inc)x7, 2sc (48)
R5: (5sc, inc)x8 (54)
R6: 3sc, inc, (6sc, inc)x7, 3sc (62)
R7-R8: 62sc (62)

slst and fasten off. Leave no tail!

Topping:

Turn the bottom with the back on top. Attach the yarn of the topping to the bottom.

R4: 2sc, inc, (4sc, inc)x7, 2sc (48)

Add paillettes and icing before you close the donut.

Icing on 1 side:

Ch 10

R1: (inc)x9, ch1, turn
R2: (2sc, inc)x6, ch 1, turn
R3: (6sc, inc)x3, 3sc, ch1, turn
R4: (inc, 4sc)x6, 1sc, ch1, turn
R5-R6: sc

Cut off a long tail.

Icing all over:

Repeat the ‘bottom’ until you reach the end of row 4. From there on, do the following:

(sc, hdc, dc, hdc, sc) around

Fasten off with long tail, sew icing to the topping.

Stripes:

Cut a long piece of white yarn and make stripes on the topping.

After you create the last stitch go in tiny loops around the yarn to secure them on the topping. Go up through the bottom, wrap around the ‘stripe’, and back through the same stitch down.

Closing the donut

Option 1:

For a smooth edge, go through the back loop of the topping and the front loop of the bottom using slst. Stuff the donut. Close the donut and fasten off.

Option 2:

For a bobble edge, first stick the topping and bottom to each other by using the back loops op the topping and both loops the bottom with sc. Stuff the donut before closing.

Next; (*sc, dc, sc*, skip 1) around the edge of the donut. Fasten off with a slst in the first stitch and weave in end.
